2014 Client Forum Day Three – The Final Session

By

compliance panel-resizedDespite a short agenda on the last day of the Client Forum, everyone returned to the St. Regis Gallery Ballroom for the final panel and closing remarks. After a quick breakfast, CEO Terry Metzger welcomed attendees. In his opening remarks he noted that the full house reinforced the importance of the topic of the day, compliance.

The compliance panel was moderated by Boston Financial’s CCO, Craig Hollis. The four panelists were set to discuss how to navigate a regulatory environment filled with challenges and complexities, and how their own organizations have evolved and shifted to a more strategic, holistic approach to compliance. They each focused on their specific area of expertise. Michael Barnes covered governance structure and stressed that it is important to focus on emerging risks, not just current risks. Greg DePaola and Jill Brown talked about collaboration and proactively keeping the lines of communication open when it comes to compliance. And Daniel Whitcomb discussed business line level intelligence and transparency. Everyone walked away from the panel with new insights and knowledge from this group of experts.

Boston Financial will continue the compliance discussion at our upcoming CCO Forum to be held in Boston in October.

When the compliance panel concluded, Terry returned to the podium to close out the Forum. He thanked our client community for attending the Forum and thanked everyone who worked to make the event possible. He then ended by announcing that for the 2015 Client Forum we’ll be going back to Chicago.

Stay tuned in the coming weeks as we dive deeper into some of the topics highlighted at this year’s Forum with a series of Perspectives blog posts.
