At the end of 2014, Arthur was appointed to the position of Chief Risk Officer for Boston Financial. Since joining Boston Financial in 1981, Arthur has held a variety of operations and relationship management roles for key mutual fund and 529 plan clients. Arthur drove the development of Boston Financial and DST’s operational and systems capabilities to support 529 products. He has also played critical roles in major corporate initiatives including the establishment of IFDS-Toronto and Boston Financial’s joint effort with DST Insurance Solutions to create an Insurance BPO. Most recently, Arthur worked with DST’s Global Insight Group (GIG) to provide domain expertise and to represent business development opportunities for Boston Financial.
With over 25 years in financial servicing, Anne Hebard-Duduch has extensive experience in all aspects of retail and institutional servicing functions, including: relationship management, operations management, transition oversight, sales and marketing, and product development. Anne recently led product development at Boston Financial, providing innovative, market-driven solutions. This resulted in several new business lines, including: a digital strategy offering, a financial intermediary oversight solution, and an expanded suite of compliance solutions. Anne currently plays a lead role in managing one of DST's largest and most complex conversions involving one of the industry's largest asset managers. Anne supports DST in the transition of the asset manager's in-house transfer agent platform to the TA2000® platform with operational and relationship management expertise. Anne is a board member of the National Investment Company Service Association (NICSA), member of United Way Women's Leadership Council, and an active participant of industry conferences. Anne holds a BS from the University of Massachusetts and an Executive Diploma in Strategic Direction and Leadership; Certified Management Institute, United Kingdom. Anne's three teenage sons keep her on her toes, and together they enjoy skiing, boating, and her attempts at playing golf.
Adrian is currently a regulatory analyst in the Compliance department responsible for analyzing the operational implications of federal regulations on Boston Financial and its clients. Adrian began his career at Boston Financial as an intern in the legal department in 2011. In the time since, Adrian has held a joint-role in the legal department, while also supporting the Chief Compliance Officer. Adrian recently transitioned to support the CCO full-time with a focus on federal regulations such as FATCA. Adrian holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Massachusetts.
Ann Marie has been at Boston Financial since 2003, initially as a consultant in the retirement division, and then as an Officer in the Corporate Marketing department. She is responsible for positioning Boston Financial as a thought leader in the industry, promoting all business lines and overseeing strategic corporate initiatives from a marketing perspective. Prior to joining Boston Financial, she was Vice President / Director II at PFPC (now BNY Mellon) with client relationship management responsibilities for financial services companies with outsourced retirement plan operations. Ann Marie has a Bachelors Degree in Mathematics from The College of the Holy Cross, and received her Fellow, Life Management Institute certification in Pension Planning from the Life Office Management Association.
Amy began her career at Boston Financial in 2000 and is an Event Planner within the Corporate Marketing team. She is responsible for the research, planning and execution of events for Boston Financial, with primary focus on Client Forums, industry conferences and associate events. Working closely with Senior Management and our client community for over ten years, she has gained valuable insight and expertise on how to run a successful business event.
Since joining Boston Financial Data Services in 2005, Brian has been responsible for the relationship and overall service delivery for mutual fund clients as well as alternative investment product sponsors. Currently, Brian is responsible for managing the Institutional Investor Services teams across Boston Financial. Prior, Brian was with Boston Financial’s parent company, DST Systems, Inc. As a Director, Brian was responsible for all aspects of servicing mutual fund clients including operations, shareholder and broker/dealer servicing, product support, technology, client services and relationship management. Previously, Brian was employed as a Director at BISYS Fund Services with responsibility for multiple mutual fund client relationships. Brian began his mutual fund career with the Vanguard Group of Investment Companies. Over the course of nine years, Brian held various progressive operations management and project responsibilities. Brian started his career in financial services with Chase Manhattan Bank managing several aspects of the credit card operations division. Brian holds a Bachelor of Science in Business and Finance from Mount St. Mary’s College and a Masters of Business Administration from Wilmington University.
Brian started at Boston Financial in August 2010 as a flex-time associate in the Lawrence office. In May 2012, he earned his bachelor’s degree in mathematics and a minor in finance from the University of Kansas. Since graduating he has held the positions of Workflow Analyst with the Workforce Management team and Sr. Application Analyst in the Model Office and Showcase teams. He recently accepted a promotion to Program Manager on the Business Process Management team at DST, Boston Financial’s parent company. During his time in the financial industry, Brian has designed and created self-service reporting dashboards along with real-time efficiency monitoring for operations. In his new role, Brian will be using this experience in data analytics and working with the Contact Center to identify and implement process improvement opportunities.
With close to 30 years of transfer agency experience, Barbara is an accomplished executive with a focus on intermediary relationships, oversight, and the evolution of distribution strategies. As Vice President of Financial Intermediary Administration, Barbara is responsible for defining the business strategy and providing product support to assist asset managers with intermediary oversight. She is well known among the intermediary community. Previously, Barbara served on the Investment Company Institute's (ICI) Broker-Dealer Advisory Committee and is currently a member of the ICI Bank, Trust and Retirement Advisory Committee where she works with teams to improve the distribution, operational processing, servicing and support of mutual fund products to better serve the needs of the industry. Barbara graduated from Westfield State College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English.
Bryant is enrolled in Year Up's intensive one-year program that includes six months of academic coursework followed by a six month corporate internship. Having successfully completed his coursework, Bryant is now interning at Boston Financial Data Services within the Investor Services division. Bryant has his sights set on being a venture capitalist.
Brian joined Boston Financial in 2012 as the Managing Director for the E-Business Solutions Division. Brian helps to advance web, mobile, social media, and emerging technology-based solutions to foster innovation, cost-effective growth, and enhance client and advisor engagement. Brian has more than 21 years of experience in mutual fund technology, operations, marketing, and strategy. Prior to joining Boston Financial, Brian was with Wells Fargo Funds Management, where he led the Operations, Retail Marketing, and E-Business teams. Before Wells Fargo Funds Management, Brian led E-Commerce strategy, design, development, and online marketing for Strong Financial Corporation.
Carrie joined Boston Financial in 1995. Over the years she has gained valuable knowledge in various positions related to both operations and technology. She is currently leveraging those experiences while serving as a Relationship Manager for several clients. Carrie is a graduate of the University of Missouri – Kansas City.
Craig joined Boston Financial in July of 2004. Craig has 32 years of mutual fund transfer agency experience in which time he has been responsible for managing numerous operational and support groups including: financial control, transfer agent and blue sky compliance, tax reporting and withholding, intermediary compensation, transaction processing and offshore distribution and servicing. Craig is currently responsible for the regulatory oversight of Boston Financial’s Transfer Agent activities as well as all operational aspects of Boston Financial’s compliance program including a 22c-2 full service solution and Blue Sky administrative services. Additionally, Craig represents Boston Financial in periodic Regulatory Compliance Advisory Group Sessions (RCAG) and is active in the industry, serving on the ICI Transfer Agent Advisory Committee, ICI Abandoned Property Task Force, ICI State Related Issues Working Group, ICI subcommittee on Money Market Reform (Institutional vs. Retail), NICSA Compliance Risk Committee, the Securities Transfer Association and has been a speaker at numerous industry events.
Carol joined Boston Financial in 1990 in the Mutual Fund business line. As Carol moved forward, she combined her financial industry acumen with her previous experience with engineering and mathematics to participate in numerous improvement studies. Carol joined the Settlement Administration team in 1995 and today acts as the Senior Settlement Consultant. She works closely with all parties involved, spearheading Boston Financial's efforts in the early stages of the settlement development.
Colleen has been with Boston Financial for 15 years, having held positions in client relations and operations. In her current position, she develops and executes marketing and communication strategies that accelerate business growth, build brand awareness, and strengthen employee engagement. Colleen holds a Masters of Business Administration from Northeastern University and is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire. A snow sport enthusiast, Colleen has been a volunteer for the Youth Enrichment Services’ (YES) winter program and still gets excited every winter for the first snowflakes of the season. Donna is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth.
Doug and his team are responsible for working with clients on strategy, usability and custom web solutions. Doug has over 16 years of project management, development, and usability experience as well as six years teaching experience at the college level. He has been with Boston Financial for 10 years. Doug’s previous experience includes roles at Fidelity Investments, IBM Global Services, and various Web startups. Doug holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and a Master of Science degree in computer information systems, both from Bentley University.
Donna has been in the finance industry for 25 years and joined Boston Financial in 2004 working in our Quincy office. Prior to joining Boston Financial, Donna worked for Federated Investors. In 2012, Donna accepted a new position in the company, giving her the opportunity to relocate to our Rockland Maine office. As a representative with the Community Relations Program for the Rockland office, Donna plays an integral role in the company’s Associate Volunteer Program. Donna’s volunteer activities extend beyond her efforts at Boston Financial; she recently became a Big Sister for the Big Brother Big Sister of Mid-Coast Maine.
Eric is a Systems Officer in the Business and Technology Services division, overseeing the Business Solutions Analysis and Quality Assurance teams. As the practice lead for the Business Analysis discipline at Boston Financial, Eric helps guide the standards, techniques, and best practices used throughout the organization. In addition to his management responsibility, Eric still works as a Business Analyst, most recently supporting the development of new products and services for the Financial Intermediary Administration offering. Eric achieved his Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP®) credential in October 2013. When not honing his analysis skills, he attempts to catch a variety of fish in the Atlantic Ocean, with admittedly limited success.
Ed began his career with Boston Financial in 1998 and has held various positions within the DST Retirement Solutions (DST RS) organization. Through IFDS, Ed worked on assignments in Luxembourg and Dublin. In his current role within Corporate Marketing, Ed supports marketing and sales initiatives for Boston Financial and DST RS. Working closely with the Information Security team, he has become deeply involved with client due diligence and vendor oversight inquiries. Ed holds a BSBA in Finance from Nichols College.
Frank works for Boston Financial's New Business and Product Development Team. He is managing the development of the Compliance Program Products and is developing a structure around Boston Financial’s Product Development process. Frank joined Boston Financial in 2004, working on the Federated Transition. He then developed Boston Financial’s first Project Management Methodology, centralized the Project Management function and established the Project Management Office. Prior to joining Boston Financial, Frank worked for Columbia Management, Liberty Financial and Colonial Management.
Fran is focused on helping clients drive growth, mitigate risk, and improve business performance by leveraging Boston Financial's deep industry knowledge, resources, and solutions. As a relationship manager for Boston Financial, Fran has more than 25 years of strategy, consulting, and client engagement in the financial services sector. Fran's client relationship experience spans mutual funds, 529 Plan, and Alternative Funds relationships. Fran joined Boston Financial as a fund liaison, later participating in development of the 529 Plan servicing team and becoming a key contributor to Boston Financial's relationship management program. Fran holds a bachelor's degree from Syracuse University. In addition to her active role within the relationship management community at Boston Financial, Fran is an ambassador for the Wellness Program at Boston Financial.
George Costas is a Global Relationship Executive with Boston Financial. He is currently responsible for client engagement initiatives within the firm. George joined Boston Financial in 2004 and has over twenty years of experience in the mutual fund industry. Prior to joining Boston Financial George was the Vice President of Technology Application Services at Federated Investors where he was responsible for defining business strategy and providing product support for the transfer agency technology platform. George also held management positions at Scudder, Stevens and Clark and Putnam Investments supporting multiple operational functions.
Gretchen Kinder works for Boston Financial's Sales Support and Corporate Marketing team where she works on sales support and strategy documents. Gretchen joined Boston Financial in 2014 after nearly two decades of professional experience in Boston’s nonprofit and municipal sectors. A Jane-of-all-trades, Gretchen earned her MSW/MPH from Boston University in 1997 and has held positions as a community organizer, program manager, fundraiser, event planner, strategic planning consultant, adult educator, philanthropic community manager, public information officer and grant writer/manager. She has worked in the fields of chronic disease management, community service learning, health professions education, philanthropic planning and wealth management, urban planning, public and community health, PK-12 public education, early literacy, mental health and dental insurance.
Julia writes and presents extensively on digital marketing, branding, strategy, and analytics. Julie joined Boston Financial in May 2009 dedicated to the Finance, Business Technology Solutions, and Finanical Control divisions. In her current role, Julie works on a variety of human resources initiatives. Her background is with human resources for workforce planning, compensation, recruiting, and employee relations within financial services companies.
Jeff Cook is the Director of Regulatory Compliance at DST Systems, Inc. in Kansas City, Missouri. In this capacity he performs the duties of the AML Compliance Officer and oversees DST’s Identity Theft Prevention Program. Jeff’s responsibilities also include overseeing and ensuring that DST's financial services products, technology products, output products, and transfer agency operations comply with federal and state regulations. Jeff serves on several industry groups; the ICI Cost Basis Task Force, ICI Money Market Reform Committees, the ICI AML Rules Working Group, the NICSA TA Compliance Guide Committee, NICSA Risk & Compliance Committee, IPA Operations Committee, and DST’s Regulatory Compliance Advisory Group (RCAG) Steering Committee. He holds a B.S. degree from Kansas State University, with a dual major in accounting and management, and a minor in communications. Prior to DST, Jeff worked in public accounting specializing in compliance audits of state and local governments.
Justin joined Boston Financial in 2000 as an investor services representative. He then moved into various other client facing roles and is currently the primary client liaison for two Boston Financial clients. Justin also holds an MBA from Rockhurst University.
Joan joined Boston Financial in 1981 and has held management positions in the Financial Control and Compliance divisions. In her position as Chief Compliance Officer (CCO), Joan is accountable for overseeing Boston Financial’s compliance with policies, procedures, and practices, including compliance with laws and regulations that are directed to the transfer agency. She is also responsible for providing support to Boston Financial’s mutual fund clients and their CCOs. Joan represents Boston Financial in periodic Regulatory Compliance Advisory Group sessions and is also active in the industry, serving as a long-standing member of the Investment Company Institute (ICI) Transfer Agent Advisory Committee, ICI Compliance Advisory Committee and the NICSA Compliance Committee. She is a frequent speaker at industry events. Joan received a master’s degree in business administration from Babson College and a bachelor’s degree from Curry College.
Jim is an officer in the Business and Technology Services division, overseeing the engineering and continuous improvement of Boston Financial’s IT infrastructure. As the IT engineering practice lead at Boston Financial, Jim helps to define the infrastructure technology, standards, procedures, and best practices used to provide information technology services throughout the organization. Jim joined Boston Financial in 2010, originally leading network and telecom infrastructure. Jim has nearly 20 years of experience providing technology services, including engineering, strategy and program management. Prior to joining Boston Financial, Jim was Director of Technology for a business telecommunications service provider where he developed and operationalized cloud based technology services.
John Griffin is married to Jean (Sasso) Griffin (both BFDS alums). Together, they are the proud parents of Jack and Abby. John is an active duty Marine Corps Lieutenant Colonel who, after 28 years of service, will transition to civilian life in 2015. He is currently employed by MLM (militaryleadershipmethods.com) offering leadership development key note speeches and corporate training. John holds three masters degrees including one from Harvard University. He is the veteran of three combat campaigns (Somalia 1992, Battle of Fallujah 2004, Afghanistan 2010) in which he earned a Bronze Star and other commendations for valor; he has lived overseas and travelled extensively throughout the globe visiting 19 countries. Jennifer joined State Street's Blue Sky team in 2004, and moved to Boston Financial in 2013 when the business line was transitioned here. In her current role as consulting attorney dedicated to Blue Sky, Jennifer is the primary legal liaison for the Blue Sky team. Her responsibilities include contract review, monitoring state Blue Sky laws, reviewing legal updates to Blue Sky technology, working with states agencies overseeing Blue Sky registration, and assisting clients with exemption and registration matters. Jennifer was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 2010, and is a member of the State Regulation of Securities committee of the American Bar Association.
Ms. Paschal joined Boston Financial Data Services in July 2013 as part of a delegation of services from State Street Corporation Fund Administration Blue Sky Department. Janice worked in the State Street Blue Sky Department for over 21 years and was promoted to Vice President in 2000. Janice has assumed oversight and management of a large number of Blue Sky clients covering a variety of fund types, structures and service levels. She is responsible for overseeing these client relationships and leading her team during a period of rapid growth. Ms. Paschal has over 30 years experience in the mutual fund industry. Prior to joining State Street, Ms. Paschal was the Compliance and Blue Sky Manager with Freedom Capital Management Corp. In this position, Ms. Paschal implemented the Price Waterhouse Blue Sky System and was responsible for all of the related compliance work for 16 mutual funds.
Jessica Perkins is currently a Relationship Manager responsible for managing multiple client relationships at Boston Financial. Jessica began her career at Boston Financial in 1995 after graduating from the University of Missouri at Kansas City with degrees in English and Speech Communications. Before joining the Relationship Management team, she managed various processing and phone teams at Boston Financial, including several teams which won the Dalbar Service Award for telephone quality. Jessica was tasked with managing the Relationship Manger community on Boston Financial’s social intranet site.
Jennifer Turner is a Human Resources Manager at Boston Financial and works out of the Kansas City office. She manages associates in Lawrence and Quincy. Over the last four years, Jennifer has partnered with business leaders and associates across the company on a variety of Human Resources issues to include mentoring, development of associates, conflict resolution and creating a positive work environment. As Vice President, Kevin is responsible for all aspects of Blue Sky Administration including service delivery excellence, relationship management and business development. He has over 26 years of Blue Sky administration experience, including systems and infrastructure development, operations and product distribution. Prior to joining Boston Financial, Kevin served as Vice President in the Asset Servicing Division at Bank of New York. Kevin led the Information Technology and Special Project teams as well as created information technology strategies for numerous product lines associated with state compliance and securities laws. He was also a founding partner at Automated Business Development (ABD) and instrumental in developing the company into a premier software and consulting firm. Kevin holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Boston University with a concentration in Management Information Systems.
In his role as Compliance Officer, Kevin is responsible for trade surveillance as it relates to Regulations 22c-1 and 22c-2. He also manages a staff of Compliance & Risk Analysts. Prior to joining Boston Financial in 2008, Kevin held positions at The McNamara Group, Computershare and Putnam Investments. As Vice President of Enterprise Compliance Solutions, Kim has helped shape the compliance strategy and introduced a number of compliance solutions including Boston Financial’s 22c-2 solution, Unclaimed Property and State Inactivity Solicitation, and Blue Sky Administration. Kim was integral to the design and launch of Boston Financial’s E-Business practice and the deployment of the Boston Financial KnowledgeBaseTM. Kim, AKA “Mom” or “Coach,” treasures the moments she spends with her three children, Noah, Reese, and Mia, and husband, Paul. She is a member of the NICSA East Coast Regional Committee, and earned her degree from Aquinas College.
Ken is a Vice President at Boston Financial with responsibility for the strategy of the Financial Intermediary Administration (FIA) products and services. These offerings include a suite of tools designed to assist broker-dealer distributed fund companies in the oversight and servicing of their third-party relationships. The FIA team provides fund companies with innovative solutions and support to their financial intermediary, trust, and retirement business relationships. Ken's career in the transfer agent business spans the U.S., U.K., and European marketplaces. He began his career at Fidelity Investments in Boston. For the last 24 years, he has worked for several third-party transfer agents including Boston Financial, IFDS (UK), and State Street Bank Luxembourg in operational, management, relationship and product development roles. Ken received his Bachelor of Science degree from Providence College.
Karen began her career at Boston Financial in 1993 as a Computer Programmer within the Financial Control division. As the Control Service Officer over the Control MIS Team, she is responsible for the development of the Control Workstation as well as is involved with all projects relating to technology within the division. Although her career with Boston Financial has been focused on supporting the Financial Control Division, the various projects and software she supports has allowed her to work with several other areas including Compliance, Blue Sky, FIA, Operations and NSCC. Kathleen is a Sr Learning Consultant in the Talent Development and Organizational Effectiveness team at Boston Financial. Kathleen began her career at Boston Financial over 25 years ago. Seeking a way to combine her financial services experience with her passion for learning and teaching, she became a learning professional in 1992. In her role as Sr Learning Consultant at Boston Financial, she partners with business leaders to create innovative learning solutions and customized organizational development plans to develop talent and achieve business results. Most recently, she developed a new manager readiness program which provides high performing talent in the organization the opportunity to experience the role of a manager prior to assuming a position. Liz D’Allessandro is a Vice President at Boston Financial Data Services – a leading provider of outsourcing solutions for asset management firms. Liz started with Boston Financial in 1984 and has worked in various business lines of the transfer agent mutual fund services. She is an accomplished executive in the financial services industry with a focus in intermediary back office operations and best practices, service support and relationship management. Her current role includes managing the expectations for the industry’s largest brokerage firms and trust companies for over 90 mutual fund clients. Liz is renowned as a leader in the field of process optimization, relationship management, risk mitigation solutions, implementing new products and client mergers and acquisitions. Liz also leads organizational initiatives to promote employee satisfaction and develop collaborative cross-functional teams.
Lynda is the Chief Administrative Officer of Boston Financial responsible for Human Resources/Learning and Organizational Development, Marketing, Compliance, Legal and Corporate Citizenship. She began her career in financial services in 1981 and has moved though several Operational, Relationship Management and Administrative roles in firms in the Boston area. Lynda is a graduate of Stonehill College.
Lisa’s career at Boston Financial has spanned over 25 years and she has held various positions in Operations, Training and Development, Human Resources and Corporate Marketing. She is responsible for corporate sales support, business event management, and corporate communications. Collaborating with our executive and relationship management teams, Lisa facilitates key organizational messages and communication strategies. In conjunction with the sales team, Lisa leads the corporate sales support function resulting in numerous successful key client rebids, new client wins from competitors and additional business process outsourcing. When she’s not working hard, she enjoys guiding her boys through the turbulent teenage years, kibitzing with her girlfriends, and trying to stay alive during her workouts.
Marianne has over 20 years of transfer agency experience and joined Boston Financial in 2000. She leads the Desktop Solutions Services team managing testing, administration, implementation, and consulting for the DST application suite.
Madeline started with Boston Financial in 1981 in the Mutual Fund business line. With the Event Center division since its inception 20 years ago, she has been crucial to the department's growth and development. She has overseen hundreds of events including shareholder outreaches, distributions, corporate actions, and class action administrations, and consequently has an impressive and well-rounded understanding of the financial industry. She is renowned as a leader in the field of process optimization, and is consistently recognized by clients for her thorough organizational skills and hands-on approach to event administration.
Matthew works for Boston Financial's New Business and Product Development Team listening and researching the challenges of our industry and exploring creative solutions. He spends most of his time with new product development; exploring, evaluating, designing, and delivering innovative solutions for our clients' business. Matthew started with the enterprise in 1992 and during his tenure has implemented innovation in a variety of areas, including customer service, technology solutions, relationship management, and operations oversight. Matthew leverages his varied experience, adds in his endless curiosity and passionate creativity to deliver innovation for our industry.
Michele has worked in financial services for over 25 years, 19 in IT delivery. She joined Boston Financial in 1993. A key contributor in establishing the BA practice in her organization; she managed the team for five years. She is a certified business analysis professional (CBAP) and a member of the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA). She has a BS in Business Administration and is a certified Database Design Administrator (DDA). Michele helped to charter her company’s Toastmasters club and is a Triple Crown award winning Toastmaster. In her current role, she is responsible for transforming the customer experience with IT. She’s using her background as an analyst to integrate customer driven design into IT Infrastructure and Support.
Mike Lawlor joined Boston Financial in 1998 and oversees the Mail Center, which includes workflow distribution, image scanning, and cash management for the organization. In addition to his operational responsibilities, Mike is also a relationship manager for several Boston Financial clients. Mike serves as a team captain in Boston Financial’s United Way campaign, and also volunteers at various local organizations.
As a marketing specialist at Boston Financial, Maura Linehan helps drive corporate communications and sales support efforts for the organization. Maura is responsible for developing content to promote corporate initiatives and enhance associate engagement. She also supports Boston Financial’s sales efforts to win and retain business opportunities. Since joining Boston Financial in 1999, Maura held diverse client service roles before joining the Marketing team. Maura is a graduate of Emerson College.
Mike is a member of the senior relationship management team. He is focused on enhancing client relationships and collaborating on business solutions to address the evolving needs of the industry and regulatory landscape. Mike has over 25 years of experience in the mutual fund industry. Prior to joining Boston Financial, he served as senior vice president of investor services at Putnam Investments. Previous to Putnam Investments, Mike was at Pioneer Investments and American Express - The Shareholder Services Group. Mike currently serves on the Investment Company Institute (ICI) Broker-Dealer Advisory Committee. An active member of the National Investment Company Service Association (NICSA) and ICI, Mike has served as a speaker and moderator for internal and external events as well as a spokesman for the company on mutual fund industry topics with a focus on intermediary relationships and oversight.
Mike has been in Information Technology and Financial Services for over 20 years. He is currently responsible for a number of teams in IT, such as Project Management, Software Development, Business/Systems Analysis, Database Management, Product Support, and Knowledge and Collaboration Solutions.
Megan began working at the Boston Financial operational service center in Lawrence, KS while attending college. She started as a mutual fund processing representative and is currently a unit manager. Her primary focus is developing associates and assisting the team with day-to-day transactions. Megan graduated from the University of Kansas in 2012 and will forever be a Jayhawk. She has a spoiled Boxer who continues to keep her active and spends her free time hanging out with friends.
Mike joined Boston Financial in November 2000 and is responsible for the Global Information Technology Strategy for the International Financial Data Services (IFDS) and Boston Financial entities and the Business and Technology Services team at Boston Financial. He has over 30 years of domestic and international experience in the technology field, with an extensive background in managing technical environments, people, and projects. Prior to joining Boston Financial, he was the group information officer for the U.S. Mutual Funds Group at Scudder Kemper Investments in Boston. Mike’s experience also includes four years as a Technology Management consultant at Coopers & Lybrand on assignments across the U.S. and in South America, and 13 years at Electronic Data Systems (EDS), developing solutions at various U.S. and European locations. Mike holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and a certificate from the MIT Sloan School Executive Development Program.
Melanie currently oversees the multi-client contact center in our Quincy location. Her more than 20 years of financial services experience includes key positions in operations, project management, correspondence, and the call center since joining Boston Financial in 1999. Melanie is actively involved in her community, volunteering her time with The Jimmy Fund at Dana Farber, Relay for Life, and Year Up. In January of 2013, Melanie received the Outstanding Manager of the Year Award from Year Up Boston.
Meghan is a student at Bridgewater State University, and will be graduating in May 2017 with a Bachelor's Degree in Communications and Public Relations. Meghan joined the marketing team at Boston Financial in January 2016 as a marketing intern. Once she graduates this spring, Meghan hopes to pursue a career in the field of marketing.
Marie joined Boston Financial in 2005 and is responsible for leading the learning organization. Marie and her team of learning professionals partner with business leaders to customize solutions to build and enhance individual, team and organizational performance. She has more than 20 years of experience in the learning profession in the areas of leadership development, talent identification and assessment, career development, instructional design and course delivery & facilitation. Prior to joining Boston Financial Marie was an Organizational Effectiveness Business Partner at Bank of America and Fleet Boston Financial.
Nick currently serves as a Senior Sales Executive for Boston Financial’s suite of Asset Manager solutions. Nick is focused on building relationships, aligning with enterprise partners and expanding the footprint of the firms core transfer agency, shareholder servicing, distribution enablement and compliance services. He joined Boston Financial in 2012, spending 2 years as the Manager of the firm’s Global Relationship Management program, directing strategy and business development efforts with the firms largest and most complex mutual fund relationships – along with State Street, DST and international sister firm, IFDS. Prior to Boston Financial, he served as an Enterprise Business Systems Consultant with Deltek, where he primarily consulted for public accounting firms and global advertising agencies. Nick holds both an MBA and B.S. in Economics and Finance from Bentley University. Nick currently serves as the Fundraising Chair for the United Way LINC Executive Council and Business Development Chair of the Young Professional’s Expect Miracle’s Leadership Team.
Nicole is currently a Global Relationship Executive responsible for strengthening ties with customers and ensuring seamless integration with enterprise partners. Nicole began her career at State Street Corporation, which she joined as a project manager in 2002. She quickly rose through the corporation, directing the global implementation team of State Street’s Wealth Manager Services. Nicole’s experience on separately managed accounts supported her foundation in mutual funds, and in 2007 Nicole accepted the role of vice president of business development for Boston Financial. She is an active member of NICSA, participating in local and national events. In 2009, she was recognized as a leader in the industry, winning Institutional Investors News’ Rising Star of Mutual Funds award. Nicole is a graduate of Boston College.
Nicole is a Human Resources, Talent Development Group Manager. She began her career in Learning and Development at State Street Corporation in 1990 and has over 24 years of experience within the field. Nicole joined Boston Financial Data Services in July 2015 and manages a team of learning facilitators at our Crown Colony and Water Street locations. She partners with our Investor Services, Compliance and Client Services teams to coordinate and develop training. Nicole has a B.S. and M.S. in Leadership from Northeastern University.
Nadine started her career in financial services at Boston Financial in 1981.Throughout her time with the company, she advanced into management within various service areas, gaining experience in Mutual Fund Operations, Call Center and Retirement Services. Nadine then ventured to Putnam Investments, where she had the opportunity to build investment management experience before starting her own business as an independent entrepreneur. After four years of running her own company, Nadine returned to Boston Financial and is currently managing the servicing for core business lines in our NSCC department. Nadine’s primary responsibilities involve the relationship strategies for our firm, funds, and intermediaries, and the management of key department projects and initiatives typically driven by industry regulations or technology advancements.
After a stint in the insurance industry, Phil moved over to financial services and joined Boston Financial. Since joining Boston Financial, Phil ‘s role has focused on developing new products and services on behalf of Boston Financial’s clients. As a member of the Business and Product Development team, Phil is responsible for delivering innovative products and services that help our clients achieve their business goals, mitigate risk and reduce cost. Leveraging his project management and business analyst skills, Phil enjoys working with our clients and teams throughout the organization to ensure we deliver cost-effective, innovation solutions. After work, Phil enjoys hanging out with his colleagues on the Boston Financial basketball league. The best part was leading his team to the league championship; we are all champions somewhere. Phil also has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Eastern Nazarene College.
After 27 years in retail management, Peter began his career with Boston Financial in June of 1996 as a temporary manager in the Class Action Settlement Division. He became a permanent Boston Financial manager in April of 1998, and worked in various management positions until August of 2006. In 2004, Peter served as an interim Business Continuity Consultant, and assumed the permanent role in August of 2006. In his current role as Business Continuity Consultant, Peter oversees the BCP program for Boston Financial in the East and Midwest. His responsibilities include maintaining the corporate program, assisting individual business areas to ensure viable plans are in place, coordinating and tracking for compliance to corporate BCP requirements, client and management quarterly reporting, test planning and implementation, and associate education. Peter works closely with Boston Financials Infrastructure teams as well as the DST Global Crisis Management Group in Kansas City.
Trish has over 30 years of industry experience with a strong concentration in both operations and contact center management. Most recently, Trish assumed responsibility for the Investor Services and Correspondence groups in the East and Midwest. In addition to her expanded responsibilities, Trish continues to oversee transaction processing in Quincy and Lawrence supporting mutual funds, 529, and retirement operations. Trish began her career in financial services at Boston Financial in 1980, assuming various operations management roles within the organization. In 1985, Trish joined the Stock Transfer division of Bank of Boston (later became Equiserve) ultimately serving as Managing Director of Operations. Trish rejoined Boston Financial as vice president of operations in 1997.
A member of the Boston Financial team for nearly 30 years, Rob he has held several leadership positions within the organization that include call center, transaction processing, quality and technology teams. He has worked with a variety of investment products including real estate investment trusts, closed-end, offshore, retail and institutional funds. Most recently, he was responsible for all of Boston Financial’s client-specific processing, institutional servicing, adjustments and NSCC business units. In this role, Rob was responsible for enhancing the units with a focus on technology, associate development, standardized processes, improved service delivery and business continuity planning. Throughout his tenure, Rob has consistently been focused on client engagement. In his current role, he co-leads Boston Financial’s relationship management program. The relationship management team is responsible for over 90 client relationships representing over one-third of the U.S. mutual fund industry assets. In this role, Rob is responsible for overall client satisfaction, expanding existing relationships, identifying industry issues and trends, evaluating the implications to our clients and working to identify solutions to meet client needs. Rob has a BA in Business Administration from the University of Northern Iowa.
Steve LaRonde is a Vice President of Relationship Management at Boston Financial. In his role, Steve is responsible for engaging with clients in the development and management of the optimal support model at Boston Financial to advance a client’s business. Steve joined the Boston Financial in 1994, and in addition to his current role, has held management positions in several areas of the firm, including Operations Management, Defined Contribution Services, and Institutional Services.
Stephen Mason is a Vice President at Boston Financial with responsibility for Core Operations within the Lawrence, KS facility. He is also responsible for the Change Control/Command Center support groups in the Midwest and East Coast Core Operation locations. He has over 20 years industry experience and began his career with Boston Financial in 1995. Stephen has held various positions within several groups in the East Coast locations. He and his family relocated to Lawrence, KS in 2008.
Steven Miyao, President of Distribution Solutions with DST, founded and has served as CEO of kasina. He is one of the industry's premier thought leaders and a financial services expert. A trusted advisor to the world's leading financial services companies, Steven earned this status by providing forward-looking and pragmatic advice regarding corporate strategy, product development, and distribution issues. Steven is actively involved in civic and professional institutions. As part of his strong belief in the transformational power of financial literacy, he founded the kasina Youth Foundation. Steven actively teaches high school students the basics of earning, spending, saving, borrowing, investing, and the risks and rewards associated with each of these activities. Prior to founding kasina, Steven ran the financial services e-business consulting practice at McGladrey & Pullen, LLP, the nation's seventh largest accounting and consulting firm (now named McGladrey, LLP. and PricewaterhouseCoopers). Steven was born in Tokyo and raised in Munich, but has settled in New York for good. He is a graduate of New York University's Stern School of Business.
Steve’s financial services experience spans over 20 years. Steve currently manages a team focused on developing collaborative tool solutions. He rejoined the Boston Financial IT team in 2004 as a systems analyst and has held a variety of business analyst roles. Most recently, Steve has been instrumental in implementing enterprise tools such as SharePoint and NewsGator. Steve is also pursuing his CBAP credential.
Sue has over 25 years industry experience with a strong concentration in operations. Sue is a Vice President in Core Operations responsible for the oversight of several operations functions. Sue has over 10 years teaching experience and is currently an Assistant Professor at New England College of Business and Finance. Sue teaches classes in Business Communications, Strategic Planning and Decision Making, Critical Thinking, and Principles of Management. Sue has Masters Degrees in Business Management and Education. In 2009, Sue had her Doctorate Degree in Education conferred with a concentration in curriculum and instruction.
Tracey began her career with Boston Financial in 1990 and has held various operational and management positions in the organization. In her current role, Tracey serves as the Relationship Manager for several clients as well as managing the daily support ticket and project team for Pioneer. Tracey has an Associate of Science Degree from Massasoit Community College.
Tracy is the Chief Relationship Officer for Boston Financial Data Services with responsibility for the teams supporting more than 90 mutual fund clients. He also oversees Boston Financial's marketing department and internal sales teams. He serves as the executive responsible for the firm's Kansas City, Missouri office and is a member of Boston Financial's executive leadership team. Prior to joining Boston Financial, Tracy was a member of the senior management team for DST Systems' Business Process Solutions division. Tracy frequently serves as a speaker and moderator for internal and external events as well as a spokesman for the company on mutual fund industry topics. Mr. Shelby is a co-inventor of a process awarded a U.S. patent for a method of securely processing confidential information. He graduated from Rice University with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
Terry is the Group Manager of the multi-client contact center in our Quincy location. She has 18 years of financial services call center experience and joined Boston Financial in 2002. Terry manages the Year Up interns for the Quincy contact center and enjoys the challenge of supporting a new intern every 6 months. Terry received her degree from Boston College in Speech Communication and Economics.
